Rare Offerings from Caballos de Destino in Hot Springs, SD

Contact for more info: Dave Reynolds and Sharron Scheikofsy - 605.745.4883
www.sorraiamustangs.net and sorraiamustangs@gmail.com

Caballos de Destino is dedicated to preserving Spanish Mustangs, and is one of the oldest and most successful breeders of Sorraia Mustangs in the U.S. They are also closely involved with the Spanish LP Complex project that is attempting to preserve and produce the series of genes responsible for all of the appy patterns. Horses from Caballos de Destino are registered with the Sorraia Mustang Studbook (SMS) and are the result of decades of selective breeding. They stem mostly from the lines of the Spanish Mustang Registry (SMR), and of the Southwest Spanish Mustang Association (SSMA), and are usually registered with one or both registries.

Many horses that are part of the Spanish herds at the Black Hills Wild Horse Sanctuary, including one of our sponsorship horses (Maricruz Kachina) came either directly or indirectly from Caballos de Destino's breeding program. If you see a hip brand with the letters "SR" at the sanctuary, you're looking at a horse from Caballos de Destino. We'll highlight more of their preservation successes in the coming months. More images from Caballos de Destino are also available from Karen Parker on SmugMug.
